Mamie Walton holds a Master’s degree in Human Services, with an academic focus on homelessness, and has more than 14 years of experience working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. She also served for several years in a leadership role supervising a homeless and domestic violence shelter. Her passion has always been helping people who are experiencing homelessness or difficult life circumstances find a path forward. She believes everyone deserves an opportunity to pause, breathe, decompress, and experience dignity while navigating a temporary season of hardship.Mamie's life motto, “Don’t Camp Out Here,” represents her philosophy: Your current situation may not be where you want to be, so don't stay there. Keep moving forward.Mamie brings compassion, experience, leadership, and a deep understanding of the people the organization serves, as well as a human-services perspective that helps connect the organization's dining experience with its deeper purpose - to provide dignity, comfort, hope, and encouragement when people need it most.
